A 16:9 frame cropped down the middle loses the person half the time. AutoShorts detects faces on every frame and moves the crop to follow the one it is tracking.

Faces are detected frame by frame and one subject is held for the shot, so the crop does not flicker between people. It reads the picture — it does not listen to decide who is talking.
The camera move is smoothed
Framing is averaged over a rolling window, so the crop drifts like a tripod pan instead of snapping around every time someone leans.
Busy shots fall back gracefully
When no face is found, person detection takes over. When several people are on screen and no crop works, the clip uses a wider layout on a blurred background instead of guessing.

The output is 9:16 at your source's height, so a 4K upload stays sharp. Nothing is upscaled to hit a fixed number.

How long are the Shorts, and will they fit?
Each clip is chosen to run between 15 and 60 seconds. YouTube allows Shorts up to 3 minutes, so everything AutoShorts produces is comfortably inside the limit and ready to upload without trimming.
How many Shorts do I get from one video?
AutoShorts looks for 3–15 strong moments in a typical long interview or podcast. How many you actually receive depends on your credit balance — each Short costs one credit — and any moments beyond that stay listed on the job so you can unlock them later.
Do the Shorts come with captions?
Not automatically. Clips are produced first, then you add captions to any of them in one click, choosing the animation, font, colour and position. Captioning a clip in place unlocks with any credit pack. The words are burned into the video, so they display the same on every platform.
Does my source video need captions or a transcript?
No. AutoShorts transcribes the audio itself to find the moments, so an upload with no captions of its own works fine. What it does need is speech — a music video or a silent screen recording gives the model nothing to work with.
Can I upload a file instead of pasting a link?
Yes — MP4, MOV or WebM. Public YouTube links also work. Private, members-only, age-restricted and live videos do not, because AutoShorts fetches them the same way an anonymous viewer would.
Can I monetise Shorts made with AutoShorts?
The clips are yours, cut from your own footage, so as long as you hold the rights to the source video you can monetise them under YouTube's normal rules. AutoShorts claims nothing over your output.
